Falun Gong-utövaren Yu Shujin är allvarligt sjuk i levercirros som följd av tortyren på Shulan interneringscenter

Den 25 juni 2004 arresterade polis från staden Shulan den 56-årige Falun Gong-utövaren Yu Shujin från Yongji län i Jilinprovinesen. Han torterades tills dess han insjuknade i levercirros och kvarstående vätska i buken. I december 2004 dömde Shulans domstol honom till tolv års fängelse och sände honom till Tiebeifängelset i staden Changchun för vidare förföljelse. Yu Shunjin blev allvarligt sjuk och den 10 november 2005 var han så sjuk att ledningen på Tiebeis fängelse bafarade att de kunde ställas till svars för hans död så de sände hem honom.

Eftersom Yu Shujin torterades till dödens rand släpptes han mot medicinsk borgen den 10 november 2005. Han lider fortfarande av levercirros och ödem över hela kroppen.
